Fontys University of Applied Sciences
Overview
Fontys University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest and most progressive universities of applied sciences located in the southern Netherlands. Its main campuses are strategically spread across the cities of Tilburg, Venlo, and Eindhoven—the latter being the heart of the famous "Brainport Eindhoven" region, widely recognized as one of Europe's premier tech and innovation hubs. This strategic positioning provides students with direct access to an unparalleled industrial network and massive multinational technology companies.
The institution offers a comprehensive range of bachelor's and master's programs taught entirely in English in globally high-demand fields such as engineering, information technology (IT), logistics, international business, physiotherapy, and the arts. At the absolute core of the Fontys educational model is the seamless integration of theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice. Embracing a "learning by doing" philosophy, students collaborate on real-world projects with multinational corporations like ASML and Philips throughout their studies, gaining substantial professional experience before graduation through mandatory internship programs.
Hosting students from over a hundred different nationalities, Fontys boasts a highly multicultural, safe, and supportive campus atmosphere. Given the Netherlands' exceptional infrastructure, a near-universal English proficiency rate, and generous post-graduation work opportunities for international students (the orientation year visa), Fontys stands out as an ideal educational destination for those looking to launch a strong, practice-oriented career in Europe's center of innovation.
